Terms & Conditions

By booking a Vatsoo cleanout, you agree to everything below. We've kept it as jargon-free as possible because nobody smaaks reading legal mumbo-jumbo — but this stuff is belangrik, bra. Grab a rooibos and give it a read.

1. What Vatsoo Does

Vatsoo provides a garage cleanout service. You pay a flat fee, we pitch up (binne 24 uur of your booking confirmation), and we dala your garage. The whole thing. Everything. Weg.

What we do with the stuff after that — resell it, donate it, recycle it, or send it to the great scrapheap in the sky — is entirely up to us. That's the deal, voetstoots.

Garage Sizes

Our flat-fee pricing is based on standard garage dimensions:

• Single garage: up to 3.5m × 6m (21m²)
• Double garage: up to 7m × 6m (42m²)

If your garage exceeds these dimensions, a custom quote will apply. We'll measure on arrival — if the actual size differs from what was booked, the applicable rate will be adjusted accordingly.

Broom-Clean Standard

When we're done, your garage will be left broom-clean. That means the floor is swept, cobwebs sorted, and the space is ready for whatever you want to dala with it next. Netsoo.

What We Don't Take

We take the contents, not the structure, bra. This means walls, ceilings, roofs, garage doors, garage door motors, flooring, fixed electrical wiring, and plumbing stay where they are. Unless we agree otherwise in writing, those are yours.

What Happens to Your Stuff

Once it's on the bakkie, we decide what happens next. We may:

• Resell — anything with market value
• Recycle — metals, plastics, paper, glass
• Donate — usable items to charitable organisations
• Dispose — non-salvageable waste at licensed facilities

You don't get a say in which items go where. Nie jou stress nie — we handle it.

2. Transfer of Ownership (Dis Ons S'n Nou)

This is the big one, bra. Once our team removes items from your property, ownership of ALL those items transfers to Project Eminent (Pty) Ltd, fully and permanently. You give up all rights, title, and interest in those goods — voetstoots.

We are under no obligation to tell you what we do with any specific item. We may sell, donate, repurpose, recycle, or dispose of any item at our sole discretion.

There are no backsies. Seriously. Once it's on the bakkie, it's ours. Klaar.

3. No Claim-Back (Geen Backsies)

Once the cleanout is complete and items have left your premises, you may not claim back any item, for any reason, under any circumstances.

Before we arrive, remove anything you want to keep. We mean it, bra. Ouma se antique vase? Your matric jersey? That thing you've been meaning to fix for six years? Get it out before we get there. We clear out everything.

We will give you a final walkthrough before we start loading. You (or your authorised rep) walks through the garage with our team leader, and you point out anything that must stay. Once you give us the thumbs-up — that's it. The deal is done. Anything left in the garage after that is ours.

4. You Own This Stuff, Right?

By booking a Vatsoo cleanout, you warrant that:

• You are the legal owner of all items in the garage, OR you have the legal authority to dispose of them;
• No items are stolen, subject to a lien, or claimed by someone else;
• You have the right to transfer ownership to us;
• You are not disposing of items that are the subject of a divorce settlement, deceased estate, or legal dispute — unless you have proper legal authority to do so.

If any of these warranties turn out to be wrong, you're on the hook for any resulting losses, legal costs, or fines we cop. No jokes.

5. Indemnity

You indemnify Project Eminent (Pty) Ltd, its directors, employees, and contractors against any and all claims, losses, damages, and expenses (including legal costs) arising from:

• Third parties claiming ownership of items we removed from your property;
• Hazardous materials or dangerous items that you did not disclose;
• Your misrepresentation of ownership or authority to dispose of items;
• Any breach of these Terms & Conditions by you.

6. Liability Limitations

To the maximum extent permitted by South African law (including the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008):

• Our total liability for any claim arising from a cleanout shall not exceed the flat fee paid for that cleanout;
• We are not liable for any indirect, consequential, or special damages;
• We are not liable for the loss of items you intended to keep but left in the garage — that's on you, bra.

South African law does not allow us to exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by our gross negligence, or for fraud. We don't exclude those.

7. Hazardous & Restricted Items (Die Dodgy Stuff)

You must tell us about any hazardous or restricted items in the garage before we start. This includes, but is not limited to: chemicals, oils, pesticides, paint, solvents, asbestos, fuel, gas cylinders, firearms and ammunition, car batteries, and medical waste.

Additional fees may apply. If any of the above items are discovered during the cleanout, their removal and safe disposal may require specialist handling that falls outside our standard flat fee. In that case, you will be given two options:

• Leave the items in the garage — we will not remove or dispose of them, and they remain your responsibility;
• We remove them for an additional fee — we will quote the additional cost on-site, and removal will only proceed once you have agreed to the fee.

Failure to disclose hazardous or restricted items before the cleanout does not exempt you from any additional fees incurred. You accept full responsibility for any undisclosed items and indemnify Project Eminent (Pty) Ltd against any costs, fines, or claims arising from them.

8. Payment (No Pay, No Dala)

All prices are inclusive of VAT (15%). A 50% holding deposit is required to confirm your booking. The full balance must be settled before the crew starts loading — no exceptions, bra.

No refunds once the cleanout has commenced. If you cancel more than 12 hours before the scheduled cleanout, you'll receive a full refund. Cancellations within 12 hours incur a cancellation fee equal to 50% of the quoted price.

9. Booking and Access

We aim to arrive binne 24 uur of your booking confirmation, subject to availability.

You (or your authorised representative, aged 18 or older) must be present for the duration of the cleanout.

If we arrive and cannot access the property, we will wait 30 minutes. After that, we leave and a rebooking fee applies.

10. Environmental Compliance (Ons Is Nie Cowboys Nie)

Project Eminent (Pty) Ltd is committed to responsible disposal. All non-salvageable waste is transported to licensed municipal landfills or waste management facilities. We separate recyclable materials wherever possible and strictly prohibit illegal dumping on public or private land.

Where hazardous materials are identified, they are handled in accordance with environmental health and safety regulations, including the use of specialised disposal channels where required by law.

11. Second-Hand Goods Act Compliance

Project Eminent (Pty) Ltd, trading as Vatsoo, is a registered second-hand goods dealer under the Second-Hand Goods Act 6 of 2009. We are required to record your full name, ID number, and address, take a copy of your identity document, and keep a register of goods acquired. This information may be made available to SAPS upon request.

12. Your Privacy (POPIA)

We collect and process your personal data in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA). We collect your name, contact details, ID number, and address for service delivery and legal compliance. We will not sell or share your personal information except as required by law.

13. Electronic Transactions

In compliance with the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002, by booking online you enter into a binding electronic transaction.

14. General

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any dispute shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Pretoria.

If any clause is found to be invalid, the remaining clauses remain in full force.

Nothing in these Terms is intended to limit rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 that cannot be excluded by agreement.
